on Munson Rd.
traveling east
-back to this temporary placing
I'm off in a haze
mixed wonders oncoming cars the country side
coming across familiars - knowing I've fashioned my car here before...
a house, next to slanted tracks, northeast to southwest
yes... this I remember
a long drive from a long time ago
you were there with me
we had a night of nothings and we didn't want to go back "home."
here... there (since I'm in a moving car) was where that long train stopped our motion
there we sat, watching the slow metal bend the rails, stretching long steel fruitful into the night, hearing it shake from within these closed windows
low music and you leaning across, laying on my chest
your exhales on my soft cotton,
the train seemed to take forever, walking machinery southwest, but you were in my arms
That's the only thing I remember, not the night, not what happened after
just us, that train, sounding against that house and the frame of my car
that sat neutral
on Munson Rd.

Beautiful. I loved it. How come a lot of your writing makes me feel so lonely though. I can't get over that. I liked the end when you said nothing else mattered except "us." that stanza got me. Loved it man. I agree w/parch too, it had a certain rhythm to it as well.

actually, i do agree with you guys...after I wrote my first draft of this tonight, I ran into Thom's room...and asked him to look at it....and when I handed it to him...I told him that I thought I could manuever it into a song...it does have a beat....and thanks for your replies.....
trevor...i don't know why you feel this...i think since what happened in life with this girl of mine (i still believe) is that when it became "different" ...my writing did too....and it became more thought....more side thoughts....more background information.......more getting caught in the moment..cuz i am trying to grasp anything something everything....all of this work lately is "reaching out" It's all comprised.

amazing.
you had a rhythymn i doubt you knew was there. it seems to come out occassionally and it moved this poem to a still place in my mind. you captured the moment and let it sit on the reader's mind as it does with you - a memory.

i loved how you used words how they weren't supposed to be used. you took it upon yourself to make the words mean something else. i liked the spacing and nonuse of commas in certain areas, it you say certain words faster than your really supposed to. you make the reader look at the poem the way you want them to. you, as the author, have total control of what the reader is reading, in the sense that your making them read it the way you want them to, not the way they want to read it, which in a lot of instances is hard. good job man, keep flowing it out.
